Among the advantages of this construction system, we point out

The ventilated facade system is not a new technique: it is based on traditional building methods such as the Catalan facade, the half-timbered wall or the cavity wall. Essentially, a ventilated facade con-sists of an inner protected leaf and an outer panel, which protects the building against the direct influ-ence of climatic factors.

These Two layers are separated by a “moving” air gap that alows, among other things, the inner temperature to be maintained and the condensed water or the rain to evaporate. The thermal insulation and the structural system are applied in this cavity. This system uses regularly spaced profiles, resulting in a more homogeneous insulation and strongly reducing energy losses. Besides the aesthetic aspect, the variety of cladding materials and their lightweight, together with an easy to install sub-structure, result in final cost reduction.

Among the advantages of this construction system, we point out:

  • Excellent acoustic insulating properties
  • Energy savings of 25%-40%
  • Simple and quick installation
  • Easy acess to the cladding material in case it needs replacement
  • Protection of a building structural elements
  • Once it is so easy to be laid over the existing cladding material, it is especially suitable for building rehabilitation works.
